Our Workouts

During workouts, students will participate in a combination of group and individual training in the following areas:

  • Kata (long forms)
  • Waza (short forms)
  • Kumite (sparring - slow, multiple-step, full speed and multiple opponent)
  • Kihon (basic techqniques such as specific blocks, strikes and kicks)
  • Flexibility and strengthening exercises
  • Falls and rolls
  • Self-defense
  • Tamishiwara (board breaking)

Our focus on kata (long forms) and kumite (sparring), with a strong grounding in kihon (basic technique) provides for unique and thorough workouts, centering and solid self defense training.  In addition, basic elements of other arts, such as Aikido, Judo and Tai Chi, are incorporated.
