Classes are kept small to ensure all students receive more personalzied training for this specialized form of Okinawan self-defense. A Peaceful EnvironmentOur philosophy, together with our facility, blend to form a calm, nurturing place for immersion in the traditional art. Our dojo is a peaceful setting martial arts training in Ryu Shu Kan's Shorei Goju karate and other self defense arts. A Complete WorkoutOur focus on kata (long forms) and kumite (sparring), with a strong grounding in kihon (basic techniques), provides for unique and thorough workouts, centering and solid self-defense training. A Traditional SchoolOur focus is on self development and striving toward each student's highest personal potential; we do not participate in competitions and students must be at least 12 years old to practice with us.
